Works on Paper

These paper pieces bring me back to a simpler time—being a kid, glued to the TV, lost in the world of cartoons. I used to sit there with a coloring book, trying to copy Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, all those classic characters. They lit something in me early on that never really left.
Some of the drawings in this collection are from my Black Book days—pieces Tracy 168 sent me from way back in the ’80s. It’s a slice of history, really. Writers like Cap, Futura, Zephyr, Cey… the real ones. That era shaped all of us.
Over time, my love for cartoons evolved. I got into Pop Art—Warhol, Lichtenstein, all that bold, clean energy. You can see the influence in what I do. These drawings from 2012 to 2016 reflect that mix—part throwback, part therapy. I’d throw on some music, zone out, and just draw. Didn’t matter how it came out—it was about the feeling, the freedom.
This batch of work is a nod to where I came from and what kept me going. It’s not just ink on paper—it’s memory, vibe, and a little bit of childhood wonder, all rolled into one.
